Are you all having the same problem with this mirror not staying tight and moving during a race? I tightened up this weekend and the intern clamping mechanism (plastic) broke is there a fix?

These mirrors have been a PIA from day 1, not staying tight. I have searched around the internet, but nothing stands out. I was hoping to find something more robust than can handle someone slightly bumping it, etc without free spinning.

I would avoid these style of mirror. They tend to loosen up and fall down on the stalk. These mirrors are actually the old-style mirror that pre-dated the mirrors on your cars.

The early cars did not come with mounted mirrors. We had to install them. We bought the Spa mirrors. Been using them since day one (over 9 years). Spa convex mirrors are great.

I'm considering this because my right side mirror broke this weekend during the race, with WOLF prototypes passing everywhere. These are no good, Sebeco. There is no way these could do a real endurance race.

Hey Kelly, just sharing that what we do at Stratus is set the mirrors and then glue them. I think there's an optimized mirror solution on the market somewhere, but we haven't had the chance to explore those options yet.

I can confirm that we have made these mirrors last for a full 24 hour endurance race and several 8 hour races - gluing is the best method to avoid them getting bumped during a pit stop.
