Hello people of the forum!
I am starting to do regular oil analysis through Blackstone Labs to keep track of engine health. My engine (2.0 MRZ no turbo) currently has just over 5200 miles on it and I found some carbonaceous material in the filter after my last race. Curious I sent of this sample which shows the engine to be in excellent health. I'll continue doing this and posting results. If others do the same it wouldn't take long to establish a set of expected normal values for each of the engine configurations at various mileage points. (not expensive - $40 per sample plus $10 for TBN if you run your oil longer and want to check it's still good)
